ERP Project Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about our ERP Project that's not answered here? Please e-mail us at askteleflexmedical@teleflexmedical.com.
What are the legal entities/sites that are changing?
The following legal entities no longer exist:
- Pilling Weck Incorporated (Pennsylvania and Delaware; including KMedic Branded Instrumentation)
- Teleflex-CT Devices Incorporated
- Inmed Corporation
- TFX Medical Incorporated
- Hudson Respiratory Care, Inc. (the name has been changed to Teleflex Medical Incorporated).
Should I do anything now?
No. All business will continue as is. As we get closer to the implementation, you will be contacted with any and all changes. We expect these to be minimal. Proper instructions will be provided by your Teleflex Medical contacts on an individual basis.
What is a scheduling agreement?
In its simplest definition, it is SAP's blanket order form.
How is a scheduling agreement different from a purchase order?
A scheduling agreement is a purchase order for a particular validity time and target quantity. A Purchase Order is for a set quantity, price and time - in other words, a one-time purchasing document that requires a new Purchase Order number each time one is sent to the vendor. A Scheduling Agreement keeps the same number until validity date or the target quantity expires.
How will this affect the way we work together?
A Scheduling Agreement makes work easier because you don't have to keep up with different Purchase Order numbers for each part number. We will request material using a scheduling agreement release, also known as a delivery schedule.
Some documents may look different but the basic core of our relationship-that of providing quality goods and services to Teleflex and Teleflex providing timely payment-will not change.
Will you cancel open purchase orders and issue new ones in the new system?
Yes. If we have open purchase orders with you at the time of cutover, we will close them and re-issue a scheduling agreement and delivery schedule.
Does this change how we should invoice or whom we invoice?
If you currently mail invoices to Mansfield, Massachusetts, Coventry, Connecticut or a street address in North Carolina, please change our address as follows:
Teleflex Medical Incorporated
Attn: Accounts Payable
P.O. Box 12600
Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
All other addresses will remain unchanged at this time.
Does this change the way my shipping documents will read?
Once the system is in effect, all shipping documents must reflect the Teleflex Medical Incorporated name. You will receive additional information on this change when it becomes effective. For now, continue to work with us as you have in the past.
How will this affect how we get paid?
There will be no effect. As it was with our legacy systems, payments will be remitted based on the payment terms in our system. A backup plan has been prepared to ensure payments can be made on time even if there are short-term start-up glitches in the new system.
With whom will we deal for orders change?
Any changes to a purchase order/scheduling agreement will be coordinated from your normal Teleflex buyer in RTP as it is today.
Will this change the way returns are handled?
Yes, returns will be handled differently. We have not finalized the process for returns at this time. We will notify you when the process is determined.
Can we start invoicing “Teleflex Medical Incorporated” now?
Yes, if that is easiest for you. Please note that until the new system goes into effect, however, your payments from us will still reflect our brand names.
Will you centralize purchasing and contracting?
As stated earlier, we expect no changes to the business processes today. All that is changing are the documents that we both use to conduct business. As with any business, we will continually look to improve our processes to maximize value to our suppliers and customers. If any changes are required in the future, we will be sure to involve our supplier partners.
